Our neighbors in Comstock Park have a line of maple syrup trees that they make syrup from every spring. And we are blessed with a few gallons of grade B maple syrup (the extra dark and extra flavorful grade) to make our candy with. This is a naturally vegan, gluten free, dye free and corn free candy because it is made with 2 ingredients; sugar beets and maple syrup. To me it tastes like Michigan. Sweet, and smokey and crunchy. We hand pull the candy on the our hook and turn it into pillow shapes. Sometimes we like to put our "Heart Shape" and "MI" on the pillows.
